The Air Jordan 1 Retro Bulls vs Celtics DMP has officially been released today. As you should already know by now this pack has been designed in honor of the night Michael Jordan scored 64 points against the Larry Bird and the Boston Celtics on April 20th 1986. The Air Jordan 1 were the sneakers Jordan happened to be wearing that night so Jordan Brand did a one in a classic black/red Bulls colorway and another in a Celtics colorway of white/green/black. The box, which is one of the highlights of this Defining Moments Pack, resembles the old Boston Garden-famed parquet floor.

Along with your regular Air Jordans 1s and the Air Jordans 1 Phat Premier models releasing in the coming months there will also be two Air Jordans 1 High strap releases. Set to debut along with the Jordan Brand Holiday 2009 releases will be a AJ 1 High Strap in Black/Voltage Yellow and Black/Orion Blue.

The Voltage Yellow Air Jordan 1 High Strap features a black leather upper, a black patent leather Nike Swoosh and voltage yellow accents on the midsole and strap. The Orion Blue model, which happens to me a Premier release sports a black ripstop and textured nylon upper, skinny shoelaces and orion blue accents. Black/Voltage Yellow pair will release first in November for $110 while the Black/Orion Blue pair will release in December at price $115.

Follow the jump to check out a full size shot of each pair.

After already taking a look at two initial releases of the Jordan 60+ Hyrbrids, one in a Bulls colorway and another in a color scheme honoring Laney HS, we present to you four more releases which add to the Air Jordan 60+ Collection.

Just like the Air Jordan 1 Phat Premier 60+pack this lineup of the Jordan Sixty Plus consists of color schemes from the teams Michael Jordan scored 60 points of more against. The colorups consist of those from the Detroit Pistons, Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers and the Atlanta Hawks. As you should already know by now, or should be able to tell by looking at the sneakers the Jordan Sixty Plus uses features taken from the Air Jordan 1, Air Jordan 2, Air Jordan 5, and the Air Jordan 7, all of which are Air Jordan models worn by Jordan in the games he scored 60+ points.

Watch for all four of the Jordan Sixty Plus models shown here to release as part of Winter 2009 Collection from............

THE KING OF POP MICHAEL JACKSON DIES

Michael Jackson, the record-breaking, sensationally gifted "King of Pop" who emerged from childhoodsuperstardom to become the entertainment world's most influential singer and dancer, and the tabloid world's most disturbing celebrity, has died.

He was 50.

A person with knowledge of the situation says Jackson died Thursday in a Los Angeles hospital.

The person was not authorized to speak publicly and requested anonymity.

His death brought a tragic end to a long, bizarre, sometimes farcical decline from his peak in the 1980s, when he was popular music's premier all-around performer, a uniter of black and white music who shattered the race barrier on MTV, dominated the charts and dazzled even more on stage.

Michael Jackson, AKA the King of Pop, died Thursday, June 25th after going into cardiac arrest.

Michael was married to nurse Debbie Rowe and had two children, son Prince Michael Joseph Jackson Jr. and daughter Paris Michael Katherine Jackson.

Jackson was born on August 29, 1958 in Gary Indiana. He was the seventh of nine children. His musical career began at age five when he became the lead singer of the Jackson 5 in 1964. In 1968 The Jackson 5 signed with Motown Records and moved to California. The group’s first four singles all made US No. 1 hits. They recorded 14 albums with Motown before signing with Epic. With Epic Michael recorded his first solo album, “Off The Wall.” The album became the first album ever to release four No.1 singles in the US.

His musical career continued to grow when he released the world’s largest selling album, “Thriller,” which produced 7 hit singles and sold 50 million copies.

Michael can’t be mentioned without speaking of his legendary moonwalk which he performed for the first time in 1983 on the “Motown 25 years” anniversary show, shooting him into the superstar genre.

Michael continued his success, winning eight Grammies in one night.

He officially went solo in 1984 and was named “Artist of the Decade” at the end of the 1980’s.

Michael performed all over the world, being the first to perform in countries that had never been visited by a pop/rock artist.

Through the years Jackson’s legacy remained but his reputation wavered.

In the late 1980’s Jackson created Neverland, a ranch in California where he housed exotic pets and had his own amusement rides. In 1993 Jackson was charged with child molestation after a 13-year-old boy claimed the star had fondled him.

Jackson married Lisa Marie Presley in 1994 and later divorced her in 1996, only to marry Debbie Rowe that same year.

Criticism of Jackson continued throughout the years, including criticism of his many facial surgeries and his skin lightening due to what he said was because of the disease vitiligo. In 2002 he received enormous criticism for dangling his son over a balcony while greeting fans in Germany which he claimed was, “out of innocence.”

Michael Jackson was set to perform in a comeback tour with 50 shows to begin July 13th. Tickets sold out in only four hours.

Art Nouveau

The architectural and artistic answer to the literary Modernist movement that began in the late 19th century was the Art Nouveau movement in Europe. The Art Nouveau movement reached its peak in the early 20th century, which is when the majority of Riga’s Art Nouveau houses were built, beginning in 1899. Riga’s term for the movement, Jugendstil, comes from the German and Scandinavian movement named after the avant-garde periodical Jugend (“Youth”). Unlike the stiffer sensibilities of Victorian style, Art Nouveau stressed a complete creative freedom, mixing fantastic elements with a tendency to show all utilitarian construction elements as artistic value, with very characteristic elements such as dynamic, undulating, and flowing lines and geometrical ornaments. In Riga, Art Nouveau could be split into two main directions, decorative and romantic-nationalistic Art Nouveau.
Riga is one of the largest centres of Art Nouveau, with more than a third of the buildings of its Central District built in the style; other significant centres include Paris, Barcelona, Berlin, Vienna, Krakow, and Moscow and St. Petersburg, among others. The main street for Riga’s Art Nouveau district is Elizabetes, which intersects Brivibas Boulevard. In addition to Elizabetes Street, Alberta and Strelnieku Streets also feature impressive examples of the style. In total, there are over 800 Art Nouveau buildings in Riga, but finding them all would be quite an ambitious undertaking, so we’ll try to guide you to the most noteworthy ones.

The Beacon Theatre

  • The Beacon Theatre is the "older sister" to Radio City Music Hall. Both legendary venues were the "brainchild" of Samuel "Roxy" Rothafel, the great theatrical impresario and visionary of his time.

  • Roxy Rothafel had identical dreams for both theaters. He believed that both the Beacon Theatre and Radio City Music Hall should become an "International Music Hall" theater, to present live entertainment acts and present cultural and popular events.

  • Designed by Chicago architect Walter Ahlschlager in the Art Deco style, the Beacon Theatre opened in 1929 as a forum for vaudeville acts, musical productions, drama, opera, and movies.

  • Known for its flawless acoustics, the Beacon has been a favored New York City stop for top acts since the Roaring Twenties. Remarkably, the original sound-system still provides near-perfect acoustics today.

  • In 1979, the historic venue was designated a national landmark and is on the National Register of Historic Places.

  • A 1986 proposal to convert the 2,600-seat, three-tiered theatre into a disco was blocked when a judge ruled the change would irreparably damage the building's architecture.

  • Many of the greatest names in music have played the Beacon including the Rolling Stones, Jerry Garcia, Aerosmith, Michael Jackson, James Taylor, Radiohead, and Queen.

  • The Beacon Theatre has hosted such operatic events as "Madame Butterfly" (1988) and "Ballet on Broadway" (1978).

  • The Beacon was the first "concert hall" outfitted for IMAX for the film "The Rolling Stones at the Max," December 1991.

  • His Holiness the Dalai Lama chose the Beacon Theatre as the site of his teaching classes in August of 1999.

  • The Allman Brothers hold an annual rite of spring concert series at the Beacon Theatre known as "The Beacon Run." Since 1989, they have performed 173 shows at the Beacon.

  • On Oct. 29, 2006 Bill Clinton ended his 60th birthday celebration at the Beacon with a private Rolling Stones concert.

  • In November 2006 the Beacon Theatre joined MSG Entertainment's family of world-class venues.

New 4g Iphone

This beautiful concept, inspired by the curves and tapering of the Macbook Air coupled with the touch's back, is even better than the cool Macbook-inspired iPhone 4G we featured at the beginning of the month.

The thing that excites me most about these concepts, however, is not the aesthetic aspect of it. It's the the front camera and the fact that people seem to be excited about getting videoconferencing on the iPhone. Specially about the idea of interacting with desktop videoconferencing software on both the PC and the Mac. This is a must for the videochat feature to be really useful, and personally I think it's one of the reasons it hasn't been done by Apple before.

My hope is that they are working to make it crossplatform, either with Apple releasing iChat for the PC at one point or, ideally, working on the connection with existing PC videoconferencing software like MSN and Skype.

Rumors are reported that it will release on July 17, 2009

KOBE BRYANT 3 POINTER GIVES LAKERS LEAD 2-1 AGAINST DENVER NUGGETS

Trevor Ariza's clutch steals are punching a dagger in Denver's season just as much as Kobe Bryant's big baskets.

For the second time in three games, Ariza stole an inbounds pass in the final minute to help Los Angeles beat the Nuggets, this time 103-97 at the Pepsi Center for a 2-1 lead that restored the Lakers' home-court advantage in the Western Conference finals.

Ariza, whose steal of Anthony Carter's lazy lob sealed the Lakers' win in the series opener, sliced in front of Carmelo Anthony to swipe Kenyon Martin's inbounds pass with the Lakers clinging to a two-point lead with 36 seconds left.

Anthony fouled out to prevent the breakaway basket and Ariza sank both free throws for a 99-95 lead.

"Trevor, he's very crafty, he's long, he's fast, he's quick and he's a ball hog,'' said Bryant, who scored 41 points. "He does a good job of reading those things. It's a great defensive play.''

As he did in the first game, Lamar Odom guarded the inbounds, only this time it wasn't the shortest player on the team he was facing, but the 6-foot-9 Martin trying to get the ball in over the Lakers' 6-10 forward.

"He's long, look at him,'' Sasha Vujacic said of Odom. "He's very long. He's athletic. He's got eyes behind his ears. He knows how to jump all around the ball.''

Hounded, K-Mart called timeout, but on the redo, he wasn't so lucky as he led 'Melo too much with the pass and Ariza snatched away both the ball and Denver's shot at a win for the second time in five nights.

"It was kind of deja vu from Game 1,'' Anthony said.

Ariza thought so, too.

"It was kind of funny,'' he said. "It was pretty much the same thing, different players. But we got the steal. We got a win, that's the most important thing.''

Bryant made four free throws in the final 22 seconds to seal the win after sinking a 3-pointer over J.R. Smith with 1:09 left to put Los Angles ahead for good at 96-95.

"Kobe does that time and time and time and time and time again for game winners,'' Odom said of Bryant's 3-pointer. "It is routine - for him.''

Pau Gasol added 20 points and 11 rebounds.

"I think Gasol was the key to them winning tonight,'' Anthony said. "Getting him going and him making shots, it made it hard to double-team him and still try to guard Kobe out there.''

Anthony scored 21 points but just three after halftime, and Denver lost at home for the first time since March 9.

LEBRON JAMES #23 SHOCK THE ORLANDO MAGIC IN GM 2

Michael Jordan no longer has the most famous buzzer-beater in Cleveland sports history.

The Shot has been topped.

LeBron James made one better.

James dropped a 3-pointer from the top of the key over Orlando's Hedo Turkoglu as the final horn sounded Friday night to give the Cavaliers, their season a heartbeat from major trouble, a 96-95 victory over the Magic that evened the Eastern Conference finals at one game apiece.

From 23 feet - matching his jersey number and Jordan's - James hit a shot that will go down as one of the defining moments in a career that's just hitting its stride.

"That guy is not in the league any more,'' James said of Jordan. "The other 23 is on the good side now.''

Taking the inbounds pass from Mo Williams, James only had time to turn his shoulders toward the rim and fire. As the high-arcing shot dropped through, James sprinted into the arms of his delirious teammates as 20,562 stunned fans hugged in disbelief.

amsterdam graffiti street art pt1

Street Art or graffiti is a visual, exciting, and colourful art that is usually seen in the city streets. Street art although not considered as an art by some, is rapidly growing in popularity drawing more and more people to appreciate the art involved in such activity. Graffiti, street art, vandalism, call it what you will, is with us today, and has been here for some time and is not going away any time soon. Yet it is invisible to most of us unless it is on our walls or our personal property.

A certain man named Ferris Bueller famously told us that “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” This particular art form calls for exactly just that, a time to stop and look around and rediscover the sights and sounds that although are imperfect and sometimes harsh are the components make up the modern life. Graffiti will be all over the walls that are dull and are brought to life by an artistic envision of a modern life, the life that you are in.

The challenge for graffiti artist is to make art that everyone will notice, but not necessarily appreciate the opinions and the views emblem on the art.

This art form gives a chance for those still searching for their ideal medium of expressing the art inside them or for those artist who want to thread on new bolder paths to their artistic goals. Graffiti (not the vandalism type) associates a touch of danger since many find it an offence to put art on the walls of public or private buildings. Artist will be given a different kind of feeling when engaging in such activity from the what is felt when making traditional art.

To appreciate this form of artwork one must possess an unknown set of boundaries that give way to not only the traditional art forms but also the new art forms and trades that have evolved through time and reflect a modern life. Artists who practice street art or graffiti are the harbingers of a new kind of art form that mostly reflects modern urban city life. Although this type of art form is not yet accepted by all as something that requires as much artistic capabilities and techniques as the other forms of art, there are already a good number of people that are able to appreciate this kind of art form - especially from the younger generations. Remember if you do not notice the artwork around you, you may never get to see it again.
